This 60 minute drama documentary is set is Sweden in the latter part of the 12th century. It tells the story of king Karl Sverkersson who became king in 1161 and was murdered in 1167, supposedly by a rival. The story is clouded in mystery as there are no contemporary accounts available to historians so the truth about who it was that murdered the king is an open question. Using a modern criminological approach, we take a closer look at the known facts and put another perspective on the murder, one which reveals a completely and until now, unknown assassin.
